About Me
I was educated at Bishop's University , Carleton University, Exeter University, RMA Sandhurst and the Honorable Society of King's Inns. I have spent much of my working life in the communications business. However, I have worked in such varied jobs as Civil Servant , truck driver in an open pit mine , teacher in a school for those with Downes Syndrome, grocery store employee. The father of 2 boys and 2 girls.
Why the Book?
I have always been interested in the study of Empires. Whether business, religious or political. The growth and the eventual decline of all Empires. Having worked within the Coca-Cola system I thought most people know very little about this Empire. Coca-Cola is the most widely known business name in the world. Way ahead of Shell, Microsoft, Google, P&G etc. The name Coca-Cola is also linked to the growth of the American Empire. Coca-Cola started out when the American frontier had been occupied. So where did America go next? Everywhere. Where did Coca-Cola go? Everywhere. I thought that the book would be popular because people all over the world see the product every day but know almost nothing about the Company behind the product. I saw what I believed was a subject which could reflect my interest in Empire with my interest in the Coca-Cola system. Having worked within the Coca-Cola system and having been fortunate to once meet an Emperor I believe I am ideally placed to write a book.
